Thanks for the suggestion, Christoph. However, this would make it
impossible to access my only windoze partition from Debian GNU/Linux,
currently serving to run an accounting programme not yet ported to
Linux. Occasionally require the accounting data in Linux.
Meanwhile have reformatted / partition as ext3 until we find a suitable
solution.
