corrupted partition with grub in hda1

XFS: bad magic number
XFS: SB validate failed
Kernel panic: VFS Unable to mount root fs on 03:01

Looks like I blew it. Trying to get grub installed, I must have installed
it on the root
partition not the MBR, corrupting the fs in the process.

So is there a fix? How?
