I see the same behaviour on Slackware 8.0 with gcc-2.95.3 and latest
2.4.19-pre9 from CVS (Linux version 2.4.19-pre9-xfs (root@blaze) (gcc
version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)) #1 Thu May 30 03:35:09 EDT 2002)
When i do make distclean on mozilla's CVS tree the rm proces's get stuck
for a good 1min or so then resume for few seconds and get stuck
again...when they are stuck i cannot open any xterminals as well as X
apps.Using fuser i can kill the process but the box will not shutdown
cleanly.Upon reboot my partitions get fscked.

I do not see this on
Linux version 2.4.18-xfs (root@blaze) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315
(release)) #2 Sun May 19 11:43:56 EDT 2002 from may 19th CVS checkout
