Which of RML's kernel-preempt patches are you using against the latest
checkout of XFS? Have you tried running things without his patch?
I'm curious because when I upgraded to 2.4.18-xfs, I used the 2.4.18
kernel-preempt patch, and it patched properly. Unfortunately the server
froze cold after two days uptime. I rebooted. It froze after another two
days uptime. Exasperated I went through what I could remove, and thought
the preempt patches should go first.
I've been running 2.4.18-xfs checked out from CVS 2002-03-12 and built
without RML's kernel-preempt for 12d9h now. So far so good. This was
compiled using gcc-3.0.4 and runs on Debian/Sid as well.
BTW, didn't have any of the corruption errors, though. None related to
XFS, anyway. We had some database files gone bonkers thanks to an MS-DOS
program running on some client accessing database files (FoxPro I think)
via Samba when the freeze occured.
