Resetting the root password in SGI XFS 1.02

Hi.. 

Can anyone give me a quick link to a procedure
to reset the root password ? 

I used the following command in Redhat 7.0; but
the same doesnt work in SGI XFS 1.02.
-----------------
Ctrl-Alt-Del : Reboot the machine
Press Tab : When LILO prompt shows up
linux single : At the boot : prompt; let the m/c boot
passwd : At the bash # prompt
Ctrl-Alt-Del : To reboot the machine
-----------------

I do have console and the grub passwords.
