Nillion files NFS/XFS
Hello Folks,
NFS wackiness:
Thanks for the NFS fix pointer to Tronds' site.
Recompiled 2.4.18-xfs-trond, and all is well again!
Machine is a L440GX Dual 600 PIII machine. Nice and stable.
Million Files Machine:
Will need to hold off on the adding Log file problem to the Million File
array.
Any predictions on how much performance would go up?
There were several choices for 53C875 support. Do these all suffer the
same performance issues for a million
NCR53C7,8XX SCSI Support files on XFS partition?
SYM53C8XXX Version 2 Scsi support
NCR53C8XXX SCSI Support
SYM53C8XXX SCSI Support
Some have queing and depth settings. Do these values affect the
performance of the I/O ?
Did see thru sar (IIRC) that there were 250 Or so interrupts per second.
Is this OK?
Can I tune this in the compiled kernel via Tagged command queue depth,
or other tunable kernel parameters.
Is there any analogue to Kernel param DNLC or similar to help out the
Directory names speed issue that seems to be lurking in the shadows and
perhaps mucking things up?
Thanks, always!
John Westerdale.
