I'd better add this to the FAQ.

There's a bug in the XFree86 Beta (3.9.16) implementation of
glXChooseVisual; it doesn't function properly if called more than
once, as Performer does during initialization.

At this point we've isolated the bug to a simple OpenGL-only testcase
and handed it over to Daryll Strauss, who maintains that particular
bit of code. If/when there's more news we'll mention it here in
info-performer ..
