The place to really look is in /usr/share/Performer/src/lib/libpfdu
at the files objfnt.c, type1rd.c, and pfdLoadFont.c. Also, try
a look at http://www.sgi.com/grafica/index.html. I think that
Paul may have placed some discussion of the font code there.
.of are supposed to be outline fonts, .bw - textured fonts, and
.mf - filled fonts. This is from pfdLoadFont.c in
pfdLoadFont_type1().
I personally found the existing code too restrictive and ended
up replacing it all so that I could also extrude beveled fonts.
The three source files in the share directory are the best place
to start, though. Send me a note if you want to know more.
