EEPROM? monitor not display 1 2 3 4 5

Hi,
    Though this is not a Performer question,I am emboldened to ask it
here.
    Why do Onyx/IR(Irix 6.2) monitor NOT display 1 2 3 4 5 when shutdown

or startup? I try into 5> command monitor in termial,setenv console g
and init ,
but the following information is displayed:can not open video to output.
if I login
and into /usr/gfx: (1) ./setmon -x 60 (2) ./stopgfx ,the X windows halt,
the text
windows is NOT appear.
    Now I only set console=d and set AutoLoad=Yes,wait for login in
front of back
screen. Who can help me to set EEPROM ,let monitor come back graphics?
    Sorry to bother this group with this question. I would appreciate
any help in this regard.
