Hi.

We have a Vega application (Vega 3.1, Performer 2.0) that use the Vega marine package. Our application runs on an ONYX II with IRIX 6.4.

When a ship is simulated far away from the database origin (the exact distance is 121 NM) our application (running in multiple process mode, APP, CULL, DRAW) crash after a while wiht a floating point overflow message (this message is generated by our signal handler).

Looking at the core file does not help very much since the stack trace almost start in our signal handler function. The stack trace looks like:

0 _kill(...)
1 _raise(...)
2 PORT_Dumpcore()
3 EL_WriteCore()
4 EL_FPEHdlr(...)
5 _sigtramp()

I've tried to run my application in single process mode in which case it does not seems to crash.

Anybody have any idea what's going on ?

What can cause a floating point overflow error to occur ?

Thanks in advance...
