The Open Inventor loaders did not ship as compiled DSOs. This is
because the Inventor loaders require working Open Inventor libraries.
At the time of ship-date, TGS (to my knowledge) did not have a version
of Inventor for Linux that worked with glibc2.0. The version they
currently have available works only with the ancient libc5 libraries.
If that situation were to change then you should be able to compile the
loader yourself with the source provided in
/usr/share/Performer/src/lib/libpfdb/libpfiv. If you get a working
version of the Inventor libs and encounter problems with compiling/using
the loader, please let us know by sending email to
mongoose-feedback++at++corp.sgi.com.
hope that helps,
tom
