I have tested the next two configurations:
-PIII 500 + Matrox G400
-PII 400 + MaxiGamer Xentor32 (RIVA TNT2 ULTRA)
Both systems with 128MB RAM, Linux Madrake 6.1 and Performer 2.3 beta 2.
The openGL drivers have been got from the respective manufacturer web
page.
The second configuration is a bit faster than the first, despite of the
slower processor. But some things like alpha textures and mipmap levels
seems to work better with the G400.
For example, with the performer town demo (at a 1024x768 resolution) it
is possible to "drive" along the town streets at 15-20 fps with both
configurations, although I think image quality is better in the first
case.
Sure there is a lot of people who has tested other configurations.
