Hi Tali,

I don't think you can legally get hold of level 1, or above,
DFAD or DTED data, which is probably what you need. In order
to get such data you have to have a US Government contract to
model a specific area of the world. You will then get data from
NIMA for ONLY the coverage given in the contract. I believe that
you are also restricted from using this data on any other
project without Government approval.

You might try emailing them for help. You could also ask about
their DAFIF format which has information on numerous airports
and runway information.

You can download 30 arc sec DTED level 0 data free from the NIMA
web site at:

http://164.214.2.59/geospatial/products/DTED/

You can also order the VPF Level 0 (DCW) data from NIMA. This MAY
have linear features for the airport runways...

You can get 1m resolution commercial satellite data from:

You can get USGS Digital Line Graph data and satellite data from:
