Don't be nervous :) I am still the manager of Performer.
SGI, in theory, assigns an engineering manager
and a marketing person (product manager) to a product. I am the engineering
manager for Performer. Chris Insinger used to be the product manager.
He has been recently promoted to marketing manager for all
APIs. We are actively searching for a Performer product manager, reporting
to him.
We are looking for someone that will help the engineering team
define future direction of Performer and build closer
relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities: Responsible for product management, product marketing
and evangelism of IRIS Performer, SGI's popular toolkit for real-time
visual simulation. Provide input to engineering team on market direction
and product features. Develop and communicate product strategy.
Perform competitive analysis. Represent SGI at lcoal and international
tradeshows and conferences. Run user group meetings.
Education/Experience: Understanding of visual simulation market,
3D graphics and programming. Excellent presentation and written
skills required. 3-5 years of experience in marketing or an MBA is a plus.
