Angus,

This is the wording that is missing from the documentation. Two things:

1) Thanks for your replies and explanations.
2) The motivation for my initial note was to save other people some unnecessary
headaches. Before I posted the note, I had already figured out what the problem
was. For other people's sake, I hope you do update the pfNodeIsectSegs man
page.
