The best place to start is probably the IRIS Performer Getting Started
Guide, which has a chapter on "Intersection Testing", and the IRIS
Performer Programmer's Guide (Chapter 4, "Database Traversal"). In the
man pages, the key function is pfNodeIsectSegs (see the man page for
pfNode if you are programming in C++).
