performer would not recognize the fact that it has multiple graphics
pipelines. It would instead think that all windows were opened on one
pipe. This lead to observable performance that decreases linearly
according to the number of windows opened:
1 window 2 windows
on one pipe on 2 pipes
Single Keyboard 48fps 48fps
Multiple keyboard 48fps 24fps
Because of that, we started only running in single keyboard mode. We
would like to run in multi-keyboard mode in the future.
We have found that with performer 2.2.6 it performs better, but there is
still a noticeable problem:
NOTE: This is a different application than a year ago, and these are
average numbers.
1 window 2 windows
on one pipe on 2 pipes
Single Keyboard 25fps 25fps
Multiple keyboard 25fps 20fps
Are multi-keyboard configurations still a performance issue that has not
been fixed?
