Hi Murray,

You might want to check the System Manager/Serial Device Manager
and make sure that you don't have any devices added. If they are,
X will try to initialize them, send them events, and query them.
This is outside of the /etc/inittab control.

Also, how do you talk to the various ports? Do you have to re-compile
your software? If so, you might be using the wrong termio structure.
This has changed with IRIX 6.x. Older binaries still work, since they
use the original structure, but any new compile uses the new structure,
and your code will need to be updated to set it properly.
