On reading my previous email (see below) I think I should have provided
a bit more detail on what we have tried...
We have someone who needs to show something in our lab to "the management".
They have Alias knowledge but no Performer knowledge. They exported a file
from Alias AutoStudio (?) and gave it to us. We have tried using PolyTrans,
AliasToIv, and Divisions Alias translators and none of them seem to recognize
the file format. Strangely enough, another file that was saved using the
same process in Alias can be converted. The difference between the files
(they are binary files) is that one of them (doesn't work) has the ascii tag
"Alias AutoStudio" and "9.0.1" at the top of the file. The other has the ascii
tag "Alias OpenModel" and "8.0". We have no expertise in Alias software so
don't know what the difference is. We are trying to export to other formats
but any insight into Alias file formats would be appreciated, especially any
insights on how to translate them to something Performer can deal with...
Thanks in advance!
Brian

Hi PfAll,
One of those days. We have someone with an Alias AutoStudio binary file
that we need to demo tomorrow. They come from afar, and we don't have
access to AutoStudio to export it in a file format that we can use with
our Performer based applications. Any ideas on how we can make such
a translation or are we out of luck. Any info that anyone can provide
would be appreciated!!! 8-) As far as I am aware there are no AutoStudio
loaders for Performer...
