recently we upgraded from Performer 2.2 to 2.2.2 by installing patch 3229.
We use 2 pipes of our IR to drive a CAVE.
We tested 3 methods of pipe synchronisation in Performer (in all cases the
genlock cable and swap ready cable is connected, although method 1 doesn't
require swap ready from my understanding):
1. share PFCHAN_SWAPBUFFERS and attach left channel 1, 2, 3 to left channel 0
and right channel 1, 2, 3 to right channel 0
2. share PFCHAN_SWAPBUFFERS_HW and attach channel 1, 2, 3 to channel 0
3. pwin->attachSwapGroup attach pwin 1, 2, 3 to pwin 0
In Performer 2.2 method 1 worked well.
With the upgrade it doesn't synchronise any more.
Method 2 and 3 work but produce warnings in the syslog
"WARNING: IR2: Pipe hung: no TBUS or ARM activity" and "WARNING: IR2:
swapbuffer timeout (rnp=0xc000000001425818)" but don't cause problems.
Our configuration:
- Onyx2 14 CPUs
- 3 x IR2 , 2 pipes used for the CAVE
- IRIX 6.4
Thanks for any help!
Best Regards
Daniela
