Chris Insinger and I did a pre-announcement about Performer Linux on
IMAGE last Friday. Here is a quick summary:
Performer Linux is going to be released as a product.
The initial release is around the end of this year.
We are still working on a detailed feature list for this release.
The product will be available on SGI PC boxes, i.e. 320 and 540. We are
evaluating other PC boxes, and the decision will be made on
a case by case basis.

This decision is made based on requests of many many of our customers, i.e.
YOU. Thank you for talking with us frequently and the confidence you have in
Performer.
Our preannouncement has received overwhelming support from people attending
IMAGE conference.
There will be a real announcement on friends of performer at SIGGRAPH,
a press release, and a detailed posting to info-performer.

I made a mistake in my previous posting. The mongoose-feedback is
NOT a mailing list. (Just got back from IMAGE, jumped into the wrong
conclusion too fast). Sorry. If you have any requests, concerns,
desired feature lists, business discussions, etc., please send us email on
mongoose-feedback++at++corp.sgi.com.
Thanks to many of you who have already emailed us on mongoose.
We will answer your questions on SIGGRAPH.
