The Computer Graphics Society (CGS) is proud to announce its 14th
annual conference CGI 2000 organized by MIRALab, University of Geneva,
Switzerland. CGI 2000 looks forward to scientists coming together to
eagerly visualize changes that occur through time and allow a better
comprehension of our daily world and nature.

- Visual simulation of environmental issues:
  water, ground, forests, mountains, and air pollution
- Visual simulation of population through time:
  overpopulation, aging, and evolution of human body, migration
- Visual simulation of human habits through time:
  dresses, beauty concept, individual and group behavior
- Visual simulation of architecture at times and future
- Visual simulation of plants, animals of the past, present and future
- Visual simulation of the making of molecules and products
- Visual simulation of any biological processes
- Visual simulation of transportation systems and their evolution
- Visualization of medical organs through time
- Visual simulation of past, present and future celebrities and
  methodology to create virtual humans
- Visualization of heavens, demons, famous ghosts or prophets
- Visualization of our comprehension of the world at a certain period
- Visualization of the planet system with its various interpretations
  through time

June 20-21, 2000 - CGI 2000 Workshops, workshops will be half-day,
                     full-day, or two-days.
June 20-23, 2000 - CGI 2000 Conference
  
_____________________________________________________Call for Papers__
submission date October 10, 1999

Authors are requested to submit original papers that present research
results related to the conference topics. Papers are limited to
8 pages (single line spacing) including all figures. The submission
of PAL VHS video (up to 5 minutes in length) to accompany the paper is
strongly recommended. Accepted papers will be included in the
conference proceedings; videos will be included in the conference
video proceedings. Proceedings will be published by IEEE Press.

A "Best CGI 2000 Paper Award" will be given to the paper that provides
excellent visual techniques to give meaningful comprehension of our
world. Selected papers of the conference will be published for a
special issue of the Journal of Visualization and Computer Animation,
published by John Wiley.

It is required that one of the accepted paper's author register and
present the paper in the conference.

__________________________________________________Call for Workshops__
submission date October 10, 1999

The Program Committee invites proposals for CGI 2000 Workshops. The
workshops are intended to provide opportunities for in-depth meetings
and informal discussions on the main themes of CGI 2000. The topics
listed above provide an indication of the types of issues that might
be addressed by workshops, though other related topics are welcome.

Potential Workshop organizers should submit the following information:
- Title of the proposed workshop
- Description of the workshop, including a strategy for recruiting
  and selecting papers and participants
- List of workshop organizers
- The name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and fax number of
  the person to contact
- Estimated number of participants and if possible, a list of
  tentatively confirmed attendees
- A list of previously organized related workshops by any of the
  organizers. This is to help the workshop chair to put the workshop
  in context (previous experience with workshops is not required).
- Length (half -day/full-day/two-days) and suggested format.

The workshop organizers will be responsible for:
- Producing a call-for-participation and distributing it.
- Selecting workshop participants. A list of participants should be
  submitted to the CGI 2000 Organizing Committee by May 15, 2000.
- Producing the workshop notes. If camera ready copy of the notes is
  submitted to the CGI 2000 Committee by May 1, 2000, the CGI 2000
  Committee will produce copies of the workshop notes.

NOTE: The workshop participants are required to register for the
CGI 2000 main conference. Workshop registration will be handled by the
CGI 2000 Committee along with the main conference registration.

submission date October 10, 1999

The program committee invites proposals for the tutorial program, to
be held on June 19, 2000. Tutorials will be offered on a variety of
aspects of topics related to the main conference themes. The above
list
is by not exclusive. Other related topics will be considered, but
should be in correspondence with the general direction of the
conference. The distribution of tutorial course notes can be arranged
for distribution with CGI 2000 Committee.

Person interested in presenting a tutorial should submit a proposal
containing the following information:
- Tutorial title
- A brief description of the tutorial, suitable for inclusion in the
  conference registration brochure.
- A detailed outline of the tutorial
- A clear statement of the necessary background and the potential
  target audience for the tutorial
- A description of why the tutorial topic is of interest to a
  substantial part of the CGI 2000 audience
- A brief resume of the presenter(s), which should include:
  - Name , Postal address, Phone and fax numbers, Email address
  - Background in the tutorial area (teaching experience, brief CV).

NOTE: The tutorial attendees are required to register for the CGI 2000
main conference. Tutorial registration will be handled by the CGI 2000
Committee along with the main conference registration.
