Maya real-time plugin with Perform

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Maya plugin that translates maya objects into
objects suitable for real-time applications (using Performer on SGI). My
application works pretty well as a stand-alone application but I can't
get it to run as a Maya plug-in...

The plugin compiles without any problems but when I issue the command to
load it into Maya , it says that there is an undefined symbol. I've
pinpoint the problem to libpf_ogl.so, which seemingly has an undefined
symbol called "vlDMBufferGetValid". I looked everywhere but can't find
this function : neither in libdmedia.so nor in libvl.so.

Is somebody aware of an incompatibility between Maya and other dso (on
SGI) when creating plugins? Or is there an obscure problem with libpf?
