How to modify video format?

   Running /usr/gfx/ircombine ,I can modify video format to Onyx(cpu
R10000)/IR under
IRIX 6.2, running /usr/sbib/vout,I can modify MCO output video format to
Onyx(cpu R4400)/RE2 under IRIX5.3. under IRIX6.2,unfortunately,while run
/use/sbin/vout,I can't change MCO output video format in my
Onyx(R4400)/RE2 .why?how to do?
please help me.
