You can use either glCopyTexSubImage2D or glCopyTexImage2D (there are
analogs for the 1D and 2D cases as well). Both of these calls should not
need to read back to the host for either RE2 or IR. On the RE2, however,
there is no texture readback support. If the texture is forced to swap
you will not get the correct texture when it is rebound.
