I read an old email of you to the Performer mailing list where you talked
about VisKit.
I would like to know about your experience with this product, your opinion
about its performance, the comparison to Performer, etc.
More precisely, I am evaluating for a new software project in an industry
company what would be the best choice in term of cost/productivity/quality
between the two following configs :
- SGI Octane + Performer
- High end gfx PC (like Intergraph) + VisKit
One other question :
What do you think a product like VisKit or Performer can do, that Open
Inventor or WorldToolKit cannot do, except the issue of multi-processing ?
How would you differentiate the orientations of those various products ?
Do you know about other options ?
I hope those questions won't offend SGI people, but I need some
argumentation to justify my hardware and software choices to my hierarchy.
Thanks for your help,
Michael Boccara.
