There is no standard format which will support your requirement. By
selecting the 1024x768_96s format, you limit it's maximum size to
1024x768. It is possible to shrink the output area, but not grow it.

Your only option is to use the "Video Format Compiler" program, vfc.
This will let you create new formats. I don't know if this is an
optional product or if it is installed by default. Maybe somebody
else can answer that.

Do you know if your display device can actually handle a 1024x1024_96s
signal? This is not very common.
