Why not output both at the same time using simple overlapping vfo's in
the combination file?

It is also possible to switch by loading a different combination but it
will take about a half a second while the new formats load during which
time you'll lose all video.

Another approach is to have a large managed area and window and choose a
viewport based on the desired output channel, moving the channel
viewport will select the video based on the desktop region sent to
video. This uses lot's of video memory but you probably have lots to
spare anyway.

You can even clear black or splash some fancy logo on the idle screen
immediately after the transition to make things look neat & tidy.

So, that makes 3 choices. run /usr/gfx/ircombine on an infinite reality
to experiment with vfo's and downloading combiation files.

Cheers,Angus.
