You need to run at frame rates appropriate for the vertical retrace rate you
have set up. If you want to run at 72 Hz, use ircombine to load a vof that
syncs at 72 Hz.

Worse in what way?

Please read carefully the pages in the Performer manual on phase and frame
rates and choose what is appropriate. There is often a lot of confusion
regarding these.
