Good day!

I have seen similar problems. It looked to me as though the Z buffer wasn't
being cleared. The problem occured more often on the left and right channels
than the center channel. My solution was to write my own earth sky function.

Another problem with pfEarthSky that you may not have noticed is that the haze
doesn't curve. With the eyepoint level, the pixels from the horizon to the top
of the haze should be less at the center of the screen than at the left or
right edge. The greater the field of view, the greater the difference.

Looking back at the October 1994 archives, Michael Jones once wrote:

:We will ship with a new EarthSky model that adds new features, such
:as textured cloud layers and directional horizon glow, in addition
:to fixing the currently identified bugs.

:Anyone will comments on the EarthSky model is invited to email me
:(mtj++at++sgi.com) with your suggestions. Also, if you have written your
:own EarthSky model and want to advise us about special ideas that
:you would like to see included in our next release, I'd like to
 :hear from you.

My guess is no one made any suggestions to Michael and therefore pfEarthSky
hasn't changed.
