P.S.

hmm... RM8's are not Reality Engine boards.

Do you mean a ONYX2 Reality?

That'll anti-alias but there is a fill performance penalty.

If you intend to antialias you will be slightly faster with a 1RM
infinite Reality than a 2 RM Reality in fill, and you get double the
geometry performance. Something worth bearing in mind when making your
decision.

You can anti-alias with 1RM on Reality at 1280x1024.
You can antialias 2*1280x1024 at about 3 times the pixel fill rate with
1 RM on infinite Reality.

If you don't anti-alias on the Reality the fill performance is the same
as infinite Reality. 2RM's in the Reality will get you a lot closer to
1RM infinite Reality fill performance and it'll be double the infinite
Reality fill performance if you don't anti-alias.
Regardless on numbers of RM's the Reality can only transform geometry at
half the rate of infinite Reality.

Cheers,Angus.
