Actually, pfCAVEPreDrawFunc() sets a callback pointer for the drawing
process. The function appPreDraw() will be called just before pfDraw(),
in a draw-stage channel traversal function.
(The callback pointer is passed through a pfCycleBuffer, which is
updated by his call to pfCAVEPreFrame().)
