->FSG is going to include all the scene graph functionality of Performer.
Actually, I'll moderate this a bit, rather than "include", the
important thing is enable. There are going to be things that
make more sense in extensions for different markets, some of which will
be in our Vis Sim extensions. Rather that promise that all functionality on
all nodes will be _in_ FSG, we are designing FSG to be extensible and trying
to provide the right set of base functionality.
->However,do not expect a one to one mapping of the APIs.
->The porting effort will depend
->on how much scene graph manipulations are in your application.

->Some examples:
->
->o If your application is "perfly your_database", then the effort here is
-> installing FSG and VSE on your system and run.
I'll add a bit more here: the perfly code structure is a good one to follow.
The Performer loader structure is also appropriate to follow.

->The vis sim extensions are going to handle the multiprocessing,
->multichannel/pipe and other vis sim features. Some are very similar to
A little more extra clarification here: FSG has multiprocessing.
However, there are a lot of configuration possibilities and so the
vis sim extensions will handle a lot of that and present configurations
that make sense for real-time usages with additional important non-trivial
details handled properly.
->Sorry. I can not supply more detailed information. The Fahrenheit project is
->still company-confidential information. You may want to subscribe to
->fahrenheit++at++sgi.com to get more information on feature sets and release dates.
Woops! Sorrry!!! fahrenheit++at++sgi.com is NOT a mailing list - it is an alias
for requesting specific information. So, if you have a question, send it in.
If you want to get on an early access or information path (NDA still required
for significant information at this point) you can make that request as well.
So far I've gotten about a hundered empty "subscribe" messages :-)
FYI, if you want to be in the early access program (beta) then
we ask that you join the Developer's Program (the free option will suffice)
and you can make that request to this alias as well:

or

->Or you may send email to our product manager Chris Insinger (insinger++at++sgi.com)
->for any marketing concerns.
And, we do keep public information on the Fahrenheit web site:
