This topic (pthread and performer) was covered extensively last month. Check
out the info-performer archive for December at http://reality.sgi.com/performer
/perf-98-12/ for more information. The relevant articles are titled "pthread
and perfly".

Bottom line is it probably won't work and you should use sproc threads rather
than pthreads with Performer.
