Loading a single file of that size should not be a problem, unles you're
loading it on a machine that has already exhausted virtual memory.

As the message says, your process has run out of memory (or it's become too
fragmented). How much (virtual) memory does your machine have?
>I'm using performer 2.x, loader 1.0 on an SGI running IRIX 6.4.
On a side note, this doesn't sound like a valid IRIX 6.4 configuration. The
Performer version should be 2.2.x and the loader (product) version should be
1.0.5 [revision R15.4g].
Regards.
