Loading GIF textures

With Iris Performer 2.0 and Irix 6.3, we were able to load Inventor files
that included GIF textures. This monday we upgraded to 6.5 and Performer
2.2, the loader doesn't load any of our GIF textures any more. The only
format it seems to accept is RGB.
Do you know which library or which package we have to install to resolve
this problem?
