For a good description what ClearCoat is (including a nifty applet showing
the differences with other techniques):

http://www.sgi.com/software/optimizer/overview.html#clearcoat

To download a demo (both Optimizer and Performer versions):

(registration is required, but free)

https://toolbox.sgi.com/toolbox/src/demos/Onyx2/

This demo shows a car with ClearCoat, but also allows you to look at
your own data. It includes Optimizer tools and scripts to process data and
apply ClearCoat, but only the shipped Optimizer and Performer apps will show
ClearCoat. To put ClearCoat into your own application requires licensing from
SGI, contact Simon Hayhurst (simon++at++engr.sgi.com).
