i had this problem, 6.3 used to let you call your host for example just
"napalm" but in 6.5 for some reason you have to give your fully qualified
domain name for your dns to work properly ie: "napalm.xerxes.com". This
fixed it for me. i've setup 7 computers with 6.5 and they just work great
like this.
