Why don't u use the IRIX IPC routines. I'm not sure,please someone confirm or
deny, but I even think it's what Performer uses for IPC. Do a man on usinit, it
has all the functionality of your regular IPC package (shared memory,
semaphores, barriers, locks, etc) and I understand it is somewhat faster than
System V IPC. The other thing one can always use is BSD Sockets, the neat thing
is that some day in the future you could take your unrelated process and run it
anywhere in the network (given enough bw) and it will work without a single
change in the source code.
