You aren't missing anything. It looks like we forgot to case on the
PFSTATSVAL_GFX_GEOM_TSTRIPSTRIS flag when reading back stats. For now,
the workaround is to read back the entire pfStatsValGeom structure which
contains the statistic you are looking for.

struct pfStatsValGeom geom;
fsp->query(PFSTATSVAL_GFX_GEOM | PFFSTATS_BUF_PREV, &geom,
           sizeof(pfStatsValGeom));
ntri = geom.tris;
tstriptri = geom.trisPerTStrip;
