Hello Performers,

Here is another off-topic request:

Has anyone experienced problems getting real-time
response from head-trackers attached to the serial
port of an Onyx or Onyx2?

I've been told by people in the business of building
head-trackers that the Onyx systems only service
the serial port at a 50Hz rate at best. This
exhibits itself as a stepping type of motion in an
HMD. We are getting ready to move to a PC and send
the tracker updates through the ethernet, if we
cannot improve our current tracking capabilities.
I've noticed that the O2 does not seem to exhibit this
problem.

Does anyone know how to either increase the interrupt
rate or decrease the SGI induced latency on the serial
port?
