Hi,

I was having a similar problem communicating with a serial device(Flybox)
in a MaxImpact running Irix6.5.
I discovered it was a permissions problem in the serial device port.
On my machine the serial port was set to device ttyd2 (/dev/ttyd2).
/dev/ttyd2 is a symbolic link to /hw/ttys/ttyd2, I changed the permissions
on that file to R/W/X on all(chmod 777).
After I did that the device was communicating fine.
I am not sure if this is your problem, but you might want to check it out.

tracker to an Onyx2 running Irix 6.[4,5] ? The set-up notes I have for
both sensors refer to Irix 5.2 (or earlier) and I know that the termio
serial port tructures have changed since then, for example.

My drivers for both devices have stopped working and I think I may have
to do something to /etc/inittab or similar to get the devices working.
Any tips, hints, pointers etc would be gratefully received.

Best wishes

Colin
