Yes -- Patch 3229, or Performer 2.2.2 (in IRIX 6.5.1) has a new CSB
loader that reads Optimizer 1.1 CSB files. Here's the excerpt from
the relnotes:

(No bug number) - The CSB loader has been updated to enable
loading of files created by OpenGL Optimizer 1.1

(The patch 3229 release notes originally said Optimizer 2.0, which
was a typo. This is the corrected version from the pfWeb site)

No problems that I'm aware of. The patch is intended to be totally
binary compatible with any program using the 2.2/2.2.1 libraries.
And if some problem did come up, you could just remove the patch, and
your 2.2/2.2.1 DSOs would be automatically restored.
