A question on importing Inventor SoLOD nodes into Performer was posted here
recently and was also submitted to GPS. Following is the solution provided to
the customer:

The Performer .iv loader does not convert SoTransform's to pfDCS's by default.
As a result, if SoLOD nodes are preceded by a SoTransform, their centers will
not be transformed appropriately and may end up being the same. The user will
see this as objects switching simultaneously when the viewpoint changes.

To enable conversion from SoTransform to pfDCS, the .iv loader provides a
PFIV_CONVERT_XFORMS mode. One may specify this mode by giving the following
option to perfly: "-y iv,1,1", or by calling pfdConverterMode( ) with similar
arguments.

To selectively flag any one SoTransform for conversion to pfDCS, simply "name"
the SoTransform as follows:

  DEF name SoTransform { ... }

where name contains the word "dcs" or "DCS".
