That type of question needs to be addressed with further questions no matter
what machine you are talking about. How fast will the ownship go? How much
texture bandwidth and texture memory does the machine have? How fine of a
resolution is desired for your application.

If you can get data from NIMA, then 5m and 10m CIB is available to you, assuming
they have coverage for the area you are talking about. Have you been to a web
site called the terra-server? I think it's at the Microsoft site. I downloaded
MCAS Yuma at 1m a couple of months ago.

Vmap and DFAD are vector products for feature data (point, linear and areal).
Vmap is in a format called VPF (vector product format) which is more robust than
that data format which DFAD uses. Level one for either corresponds to As for
VPF, that format is not exclusively limited to feature products. Instead of,
"Here's a river, here's where it starts, here's where it bends, and here's where
it ends," VPF is advertised to give you stuff like width, name and relationship
data wrt other features. So Vmap is "better", but chances are that coverage for
the area you are looking for is nonexistent at this time, unfortunately. DFAD is
what it is - no future editions/upgrades/whatever.
