FYI, our C API is wrappers around the C++ API so the C++ is actually
faster and internally the code is all the same. The C++ API can
also make use of inlining for even more speed.
FYI, that inlining is exactly why Performer can't promise to keep any sort of
binary compatibility between major releases and why then some bugs can't
get fixed in minor releases.
