Would be grateful if anyone can shed some light into this odd problem i'm
facing :) ...
The aim of the program i'm writing is to visualize real time
indentations to a model in Performer when forces are applied to the model
(e.g. squeezing a stress ball or something). Wot I've done is to define
the model programatically in perfly.C (without using the file format
loaders)...
To affect changes to the surfaces, all i did was to change the values of
the vertex coordinate and normal arrays which define the geoset in the
draw process. This strategy works fine on a single-processor machine like
the Max Impact.
However, after i ported over the codes to Onyx 2 (2 processors) the model
couldn't even be displayed -- I assumed that it was my code's fault which
ignored multiprocesses. Hence i ran perfly with the -m 0 option
(APPCULLDRAW as single process). The problem was partially solved.
However, indentations made to the model could only be visualized in
WIREFRAME mode and not when the model was SHADED. Is that normal??????
Another oddity -- I ran the program on a Max Impact but displayed it on
the Onyx. Same problem. This can't be a problem due to the 2 processors
on the Onyx, rite? Help appreciated.... thanks. *8)
