using other than pipe 0 question

Fellow performer users:

I have a two pipe indigo2, and i want to run a single channel
performer process on pipe 1 instead of pipe 0 (i have my reasons).
All of the documentation indicates that performer will always start
with pipe 0, whether running in Multiprocess mode or not. The system
is running IRIX 5.3 and Performer 2.0. Is there any way to do this ?
