We'd like to create a virtual reality experience for a museum that
combines a video backdrop with VR artifacts. We'd like to create a high
quality VR video clip (~60 seconds), and have this playing on a
rectangle (a virtual screen) in the screen. We'd like to move a virtual
museum artifact in front of this "screen". It appear that pfTex...
supports the use of video in simulations, and that movietex.c shows
how to use this. However its not what kind of performance limitations
there are...

It appears that DIVO is useful for display onto a model of video clips
that fit in system memory. What about for longer video segments?

Does the Sirius video options from SGI permit streaming high quality
video into performer, or is it rather a tool for composing video?

Does the Onyx2/IR architecture have the bandwidth to stream full screen
digital video from disk?

thanks,
