Problems using Performer's Pipe Window setOriginSize method

I'm trying desperately to hide a Performer pipe window. Since no
unmapWindow method exists, I'm forced to resize/reposition the window in
order to hide it. Unfortunately, Performer sees it necessary to clamp
window positions to force the ENTIRE window on the screen ... why?
Also,
in some situations when calling the setOriginSize method, the window's
size is correct, but Performer insists the window be either to the far
left or bottom of the screen. Why Performer does all this is a mystery.
All I care to do is hide my darned window ... what are my options?

Any help would be appreciated.
